Miley Cyrus' father Billy Ray says the "jokes" Jamie Foxx told via his Sirius radio show were not so comedic, especially since he has a teenage daughter too.
"There was nothing funny about it and quite frankly, I think if I said those things about his daughter, he might not find it so comedic," Cyrus shared with the "Bonnie Hunt Show" Thursday.
"It was hurtful," Cyrus offered.
Billy Ray's comments come after Foxx made a few off cuff remarks, which he has since apologized for, regarding "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus including "make a sex tape" and "get like Britney Spears and do some heroin".
Apologizing via Jay Leno's late evening broadcast, Foxx said "I just want to say, I apologize for what I said. I didn't mean it maliciously. You know I'm a comedian. You know my heart. Miley, I apologize so I'll call you. I got a daughter too, so I completely understand".

So why was Imus fired and Foxx was not? Imus apologized, what a joke. What Foxx said was much worse. The difference, black vs. white as opposed to white vs. black.
I think Jamie is a great actor, singer, and comedian however I think he should have used alittle more tack in this case. I mean we all know that everyone is the brunt of a comedians jokes however when joking about a young person you really should be careful. I heard the joke I didn't think it was funny at all. It was tasteless, just like the imus joke about the basketball team. Jamie has sincerely apoligized so it's time to move on.
I also agree with Sam, but if it was the other way around, we'd African-Americans would be mad as hell at the white comedians if they were talking about our good young role models like Raven-Symone or Keke Palmer?????
Lisa, That girl is not a good singer she screams her music or whatever you want to call it. He joked and that's all b4 you know it she might be another brittany spears or lindsay lohan. We don't know because the road taken for some of this stars are not good. I am not a fan of Miley and I definitely hate hannah montana. Thank god I don't have a girl so I don't have to endure that terrible stuff she calls music. I love Jamie foxx though. Very talented man he is.....
I agree with Sam below and I'm thinking like another blogger pat said last month, that you must be this big industry person because your comments are as if you have been around alot of executives in showbusiness! Jamie Foxx is a rare talent in the business! He sings, writes, produces, can act in any character role, and can tell jokes too, and is an Oscar winner on top of all that!
The man said sorry now get over it. Its obvious dat he was makin a joke
Jamie Foxx shouldn't be making jokes about hannah montana because she is a good singer.
i'm not so sure if jamie needed to apologize for his comments. he's a comedian that hosts a no holds barred raw radio show . howard stern has the same type of platform and makes comments that are as funky as jaime's and howard doen't apologize. thats the environment for those types of shows. its raw and down right raunchy. their material isn't at all designed for light hearted sensitive audience. i love jamie foxx for all of his talented contributions. keep singing to me jamie and don't stop making me laugh out loud.
America always wants to defend their chosen sweethearts like Britney, Paris, Jessica and Lindsey! Even though most of these young starlets continue to not be positive role models for our young girls with their drinking & driving, drug use, eating disorders and lack of personal hygiene! They still receive top A-listing billing, despite their antics! A Lot of other comedians have used them as jokes, but they don't joke on the good ones like Hilary, Miley and Hayden! In other words, they don't want you to say anything negative about their chosen good girls who are white! But its OK for Chelsey Handler, Sara Silverman, Kathy Griffin and Jay Leno to joke all they want, but not Jamie! Man, Foxx, they caught you by surprise and are looking for anything to degrade and shadow what is going to be likely your next Oscar win with your new movie opening soon!
Let it go, it is done, dont keep beating a dead horse for publicity. The system is akways on the prowl for a Talented Young Brother. System it is over, get it out of your syste. He said that's he sorry, so be it. If this was all that was done to us as a RACE of PEOPLE and no one cared about that, this is nothing compared to what happened to all the Colored, Black, African RACE. You are trying to justify some financial gains. OK
