Simon Slams Idol's Lil Rounds' Rose On Movie Night

American Idol contestant Lil Rounds felt the brunt of Simon Cowell's frustration on Tuesday's Movie night on American Idol.
Telling rounds she was not "the artist I believe we met seven or eight weeks ago," Cowell dismissed rounds performance of Bette Midler's "The Rose".
Defending herself by arguing that she put her own spin on it by inserting R&B, Rounds responded to Cowell's displeasure before exiting the stage.
Cowell also told Rounds she was "getting this completely wrong. You had nice moments in there but there are no excuses anymore".
Rounds will face elimination Wednesday.

Simon knows what he is looking for from Lil Rounds and she is not bringing it. Matter of fact he has told her to bring some big voice singing. Some Whitney, Arthea, Mary J she has a big loud voice, use it. Quit doing all these soft melodies or she is going to be out of their. Use what got her to the stage. Not sure why she is changing her voice style now. Adam has not changed he is on it! Hell she ain't no Sarah Vaugh or Billy Holiday.
Lil is the very definition of AVERAGE. I can't understand why the judges have been blowing this girl up from the get go. Maybe that's the problem. They made it out like she was amazing, only to find out they were wrong. It's as much their fault as it is theirs. Even her MJB performance at the beginning of the season wasn't that great. It was just a copy cat of MJB and it was called "brilliant". I don't get it.
Mari is completely correct. Lil has never killed a song. She is more and more ordinary every week. Karaoke doesn't mean you can't hit a note, it means you can ONLY hit the notes without "owning" the song. And she wasn't hitting all her notes. I think Lil is very over-rated. Allison is much, much better. I'm just glad the judges finally acknowledged that, when Simon called Allison the "girl's only hope."
I believe Rounds voice is strong but why did she not understand that her voice is very soulful and stronger that Bette Midler's "Rose". Simon is a pill but he's also constructively analyzing her performance for future performances. That is not a put down just a word to the wise saying "enhance your singing by doing this..."
Oh and by the way Mari what do you have
Its funny Mari how you get off by saying that she is plain karaoke... I thought karaoke was for people who really cant hit a note and just having fun... give props when it is due she is more than just that she can sing but what simon was looking for was somthing diffrent and he is entitle to his onw opinion... she can SING her as off and just give her her props... you not liking her is one thing but talent she does have....
At last Simon's eyes were open. I never know where the judges get their praises for Lil's singing. I never heard her kill a song. There was never a WOW moment from her. She only has a powerful voice and can sing but she's no singer more so an artist. She has no talent in style and delivery to make a song her own. She's plain karaoke.
