Ciara Says She's Not A Copycat, Just Being Creative

As the release date edges closer for her new album Fantasy Ride, critics are beginning to weigh in on Ciara, associating her with other artists look and style. Rumors have been floating around that she is trying to be like the late Aaliyah but the latest allegation is based around her new single “Love Sex Magic,” and it’s comparison to Beyonce's “Diva.”
The Goodies star has been attacked by online bloggers for appearing to copy Beyonce's video by recreating poses and donning similar fashions in Love Sex Magic, which also features Justin Timberlake.
So what does Ciara has to say about the accusations?
"I don't think there's really anything to address. I think it's very, very funny," she tells Honey magazine.
"They must have really enjoyed (my video) that much to go and nitpick it, because it's something they pulled up and was (sic) like, 'Yo! There were a couple of things in there that I've never seen (from Ciara).'
And the singer claims any similarities are pure coincidence, because she aims to create something new and fresh with every release.
She adds, "I think that it's important for us as artists to be original and to create something new, so it would be really silly of me to go and create something you've already seen."
"So not one time were any of my references another artist... It goes to show how creative we can be and how close the worlds are."
"I did my first video with my metal outfit. I was inspired by Thierry Mugler. Now, from my understanding, Beyonce is using Thierry Mugler for her tour. It just is what it is. It's very petty to me."

IT SEEMS kind of like the fans are having a hard time getting used to the idea that theres more than one star in this world, all i have to say is HATERS hate on because CICI is here to stay and if you haters cant stan it you start packing, and CICI is not the only new star that coming up to the PLATE, this group of new talent on the team is ready to NAIL THE ball all the way to the back side of the field and i donts blame them who gives a rats a-- about who wore this or that , who got more money, who looks the best HELL ITS all about working and making money some are already ther so dont knock the ones whos coming your way just move over and let them through.

Also, when Ciara first came out wearing the jeans with boots and short jackets and hooded tops everyone copied CiCi. I think when it comes to style, most of the people will dress like her instead of Beyonce. Also, when Ciara said she was a tomboy when she first came out then every female artist from Beyonce, Rihanna, to Keri Hilson started saying they were tomboys.
Ciara is no copycat of Beyonce or anyone else. Beyonce has copied all of Ciara's dance moves. Ciara brought back the glove and now everyone wants to wear a glove. I think both of these ladies have different styles, but when it comes to videos being similar you might want to criticize the directors and stylist making them similar. Beyonce is not the Queen of anything, she is no Mary J. Blige, Patti Labelle, or Whitney Houston. She has no style and she really is not a good singer.
Just leave Ciara alone, Beyonce steals too! let's not forget.. but she just took some of her ideas and mixed it with the preview of Ego! give her a break...
I have to agree with what a lot of people are saying. I am a huge fan of Ciara, but I think that her new video is a lot like Beyonce. Even the bar thing in the video, Beyonce did that at a concert or in a video. Ciare keep doing what you are doing, but bring your style, we don't what to see what everyone else is doing. We as the public wants something fresh and new,
To all you other R&B divas, until your record label is willing to place the millions behind your artistry like Sony does for Beyonce...stop complaining and blaming Beyonce for you not having hits on the charts! I like Beyonce and Ciara even more, but the irony of Beyonce's body of work is that she never addresses indusrty beefs! Her camp thinks she is taking the high road and I think NOT! It will come a time when the music-buying public will make Beyonce address hers! She is not the only "it" diva! Miley Cyrus, Carrie U., and Taylor Swift have sold more units (See Billboard)and receive top billing at award shows! Jhud and Alicia Keys continue to be on several magazine covers and still sell as well! Britney Spears sold well even in the mist of her mess! With only 8 million CDs sold from three "solo" projects and with her moderate-semi-favorable acting reviews, Beyonce is just one of few "it" divas!
Here we go again with our R&B divas! They really do hate one another and don't mind dissing other sistas in the media, while their pop and country peers co-exist peacefully on the surface with out public bickering! I like Beyonce, but no one has asked her in any of her recent magazine cover stories, about all this speculation about her industry beefs with other divas, veterans(Aretha, Etta, Janet) and her peers!(Ciara, Mya, Jhud, Keri) Although Beyonce did have the metal suit on BET, it was not memorable! Ciara's "Go Girl" received heavy video play and her suit was silver and more herioc looking, and B's was gold with more of contempoary look! B's "Diva" video looks more like Lady Gaga! CiCi did "Like a boy" first and no one has asked B why she gave her song the exact same title as one of her peers! "Love, S, M." video looks nothing like Beyonce! CiCi continue to take the higher road for I don't think that Beyonce a diva hater, she is just hated upon!
