Day26Once a heavy release month, with new albums expected from Ciara and LeToya Luckett, among others, April is now down to just a handful of major releases.

Nevertheless, spring’s rain-filled month kicks off with an American Idol contestants self titled disc; the return of Making the Band 4 stars Day 26 and a Live! album from Stellar Award winning Gospel/Inspirational artist Smokie Norful !

Norful, the first to release an album this month, is set to take fans to church with the highly anticipated album “Live!”. Recorded Live! at The Cannon Center in Memphis, TN, “Smokie Norful Live” is a 10-track set that includes collaborative efforts with Tye Tribbett and Heather Headley.

Speaking of the effort recently, Norful said “I’m really just a church kid. I have other components to add to the flavoring, but the bottom line is I’m just a church kid who loves gospel music, loves God, and loves the Word of God. Where I have a natural tendency to excel is in a live setting. It’s just a comfort zone that I’ve fallen into. I’m giving people some Sunday-morning material.”

Norful’s disc, accompanied by releases from American Idol vet George Huff, Ray Charles, Rev. Timothy Wright, and Jesse McCartney, hits stores Tuesday, April 7.

April’s most anticipated release however, comes from Bad Boy and Making the Band 4 stars Day 26 !

The quintet, featuring members Will, Que, Robert, Brian A., and Mike, will unleash their sophomore disc “Forever In a Day” April 14.

Led by the single “I’Mma Put In On Her” (feat. Yung Joc and Diddy) and buzz single “Stadium Music,” the former “Are We In This Together” singers teamed up with Mario Winans, Bryan Michael Cox, Jermaine Dupri and Diddy for “Forever In A Day”.

Other notable April 2009 releases include the Motown distributed Rick James “Anthology;” Ray Charles’ “The Ultimate Ray Charles Collection;” and Jesse McCartney’s ‘Recharged’ edition of “Departure”.,
