Rihanna's Domestic Abuse Photos Turned Into Art!

An LA based artist is trying to put a positive spin on the TMZ leaked photos of Rihanna taken after she was allegedly beaten by boyfriend Chris Brown.
But the catch is, artist Sham, who portraits the "Disturbia" singer’s highly publicized photo, is not doing this for Domestic violence prevention.
"I thought the bruises in the police photo were interesting shapes to draw," he tells E!. "And it was cool to color them pink and blue. Those are two of my favorite colors."
The 24-inch by 36-inch piece will be featured in the World of Wonder Storefront Gallery's new group show, Name That 'Toon, opening tonight in Hollywood.
"There is no message to any of my art," he went on to say. "It's meant to look cool hanging on your wall and that's it! I'm not into deep meanings."
Side note: Cool? Not into deep meanings? Can you say another person looking for fame!!!

I agree with Slugo--well not the part about it being sick--but the part about it not being very original. There are so many ways he could've found to incorporate the story and even the picture without just copying it four times and coloring it a bunch of different colors. Even just looking at it in a pop art sense, the picture set into four, set apart by colors, is the most over-used pop art format there is. I mean, there's a facebook application that does this exact thing with any picture, I don't even consider that art. Back in the 60's when Andy Warhol was originally doing it it was, but not now that it has been done over and over again. And everyone who's b****ing about the picture being used is being ridiculous, it picture has been all over the internet for weeks, who cares if it's seen one more time in another place.

I get it, Dave & Frantzie, you're most likely the same person and the captain of the Chris Brown blog defense squad or something. Fine. I just think this artist and his work is lazy as hell. There's nothing original here. A wannabe Warhol made from the most recent infamous photo. WOW!!! So revolutionary!! What a vision this guy has LOL! I can think of hundreds of ways he could've pushed buttons with the Rihanna/Brown case but this is pretty lame....and yeah, sick.
Rihanna's lips were swollen from herpes BEFORE the incident. That is what you are seeing.
LisaRaye was beat to a pulp by her caribbean coon husband. That was real domestic abuse. She was in hospital for days. Rihanna only went to hospital emergency room, after she told a bunch of lies, has no permanent scar, had no broken bones, no black eyes, no teeth out, and FOOLS still believe she was beat within an inch of her life. How stupid can the american public be? Did the old married white man who brought her to america, that is her REAL man, blow this story up. They were only using Chris to cover up their affair from his wife. Stop the stupidity! This case is only self defense. Chris is a victim. He has been used and abused by an american hater who needs to be deported.
SHAM IBRAHIM is the rad!!! I went to the reception at World Of Wonder. Sham was drunk as hell, but very nice and he told me he is donating some of the money he makes to a domestic violence non profit. I thought that was cool.
Why are people freaking out and saying the artist went too far. He's not the one who beat Rihanna up... Don't blame him for your anger. Blame society for allowing something like this to happen and realize it's people like him who make us aware of what is wrong with society. His quotes are obviously intentional. He is not emotionally involved in this like all of you are, but he created this portrait to get an emotional reaction from people weather he admits it or not. And, last time I checked that is what a brilliant artist does. I don't think he's sick in the head at all. It's the people who are giving this so much attention that are sick. And, that is the obvious truth. Anyone who denies it does not want to face their own truth about this incident. So, keep hating on him and calling him sick. I guess it's easier than facing the TRUTH and that is that WE, as a society, are all are sick for being so interested in this in the first place.
