Word is Island Def Jam dropped Christina Milian, after her third album, "So Amazin,' " was less than amazin' in sales. The heavily hyped album sold a meager 50,000 units ? in the week after its May 16 release. Sources say Island Def Jam gave her a promotional budget worthy of Mariah Carey.

Adding insult to injury, I herd Vibe magazine canceled Milian's scheduled August cover, after Island Def Jam informed the mag that she's toast ? and replaced her with R&B singer Keyshia Cole.

I?m told that Milian passed on recording "S.O.S. (Rescue Me)," which ended up becoming a hit single for her label mate Rihanna ? whose record, "Girl Like Me," sold 115,000 copies in its first week.

Rumor is execs at Island Def Jam are blaming Milian's boyfriend and executive producer, Marcello (Dre) Valenzano, of the production team Cool & Dre, for the artist's alleged lack of cooperation.

Milian's PR rep confirmed the split with the record label, but tried to give it a sweet sound: "Christina Milian and Island Def Jam have decided to end their relationship due to creative differences. This was a mutual decision."

Island Def Jam had no comment.

haha ! Now this girl is blaming on rihanna saying she got dropped because they wanted to use all their money on rihanna , maybe so ; and why not ? Rihanna is a good investment , look at her now , she is one of the best female artist in the industry like don't hate on her because she took what you didn't wanted and made it into fire. 3. Lisa says:

Her single was hot, but it was forced on us. The younger people buy the music and they wasn't feeling that joint...check the ringtone and single sales. Plus it sucks to dance to.

  4. D-Rich Fan says:

Man thats crazy. Thats why Def Jam should be signing real artists that grind everyday like D-Rich. www.myspace.com/rollxrecordsdrich

  5. CJ says:

Point is, Cool & Dre cannot do R&B/Pop music. There s*** only sounds good when Mary J is on on. There good Hip Hop Producers. That's the down fall.

Isn't the SOS song by Rhianna? that sucks for Christina but she'll bounce back

  7. kane8686 says:

daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.. thats shady. thats what she gets tho... might s well named her album "f*** nick cannon"

  9. claytonsavage.com says:

In what way ws she uncooperative. I've heard her song all over the place and it's got the "sound" that seems prevelant today. So what's the Ish? Breaking up with Nick Cannon? And the SOS song is so great that if she had recorded it the same response would have happened eh? something smells a little foul here.
