SR Gospel: Kim Burrell Set For New Album Release, Donald Lawrence On For 'Sunday Best' Top 20

Noted Gospel/Jazz great, Kim Burrell is set to release her first studio album in seven years next month !

Burrell, noted as one of Gospel music's leading ladies, has wrapped up her seventh album titled "No Ways Tired."

An ode to the great James Cleveland, "No Ways Tired" will include classic cuts of "My Faith Looks Up to Thee, "I Surrender All" and "O Lamb of God".

With production from Chris "Big Dog" Davis," Burrell's "No Ways Tired" is slated for release April 7 via Shanachie Entertainment.


In related news, BET has revealed the TOP 20 finalists for the second season of its hit singing/reality competition 'Sunday Best'.

"There was so much talent this season that we literally passed on dozens of incredible singers just because of space limitations," says Erica and Tina Campbell of Mary Mary. "We would gladly share the stage with any of the top 20 selected because they're just that good! Viewers are going to be glued to their televisions for every single episode."

In addition to revealing the Top 20, which includes Cekoya Burch, Dontavies Boatwright, John McClure, Jr., Sharon Gomez, Latice Crawford, Kalind Hayes, and Zebulon Ellis, BET Sunday Best has confirmed award-winning recording star Donald Lawrence as this season's music mentor !

As one of Gospel Music's most sought after writers, producers and artists, Donald Lawrence will assist the Top 20 as they ride through the season in hopes of winning a recording contract, a 2009 Lincoln MKS and a list of other perks as part of a special Grand Prize package.
