The votes are in and as always someone has to go, except on this season's American Idol two contestants were sent home !
Described as a two of the more innocent or 'nice' appearing contestants this season, both Jasmine Murray and Jorge Nunez were sent home during Wednesday's elimination show.
Murray, a 16-year-old high school student from Mississippi, the judge's wild-card pick earlier in the season, pleased the judges with vocals but not in personality.
But it was after all the viewers who voted. For Murray, who performed "I'll Be There" during Tuesday's Michael Jackson covered performance show, the votes did not add up.
The same can be said for 20-year-old college student Jorge Nunez, who had been slammed for his performance of "Never Can Say Goodbye".
Eleven finalists remain in the competition including Adam Lambert, Lil Rounds, Allison Iraheta, Kris Allen, Anoop Desai, Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace, Matt Giraud, Megan Corkrey, Michael Sarver and Scott MacIntyre.
In related news, Ryan Seacrest revealed this year's twist in the show, a one time only vote that would allow the judges, who must vote unanimously, to save a contestant from elimination even if America decides not to vote for said contestant.
"If someone happens to be at the bottom, and we think they deserve another chance, we're going to give them another chance," says Simon Cowell.
American Idol returns next Tuesday on Fox!

To big red..."we need to remember what are vote accoplished with Pres Obama"...you accomplished to put the most liberal pres in history into the oval office....it is not wether your black or white its about picking the right person for the job...the same is true for idol.....How are the first 100 days of Obama's presidency going for you...is he paying your rent, buying your food or has the economy gone further down the drain.......this is the ignorance of our race.....it is just as racist as anyone else.....a black president is a good thing i just hope we havn' lost too much in the process....ps it is our not are....
I disagree. We voted Fantasia... We voted Reuben... Everyone has just grown tired of the show. I think that's why not many of us are voting anymore. White America goes hard for that show. I used to go hard for it, but it's boring now. Most of us just watch the 1st set of auditions & then stop watching. Honestly, this season the people they chose that were of color before we were able to start the voting SUCKED. I think I liked 1 of the black guys but he screwed up during Hollywood week. I'm black, but they're not gonna get my vote just because they're black. I vote for whomever I think has the talent. I'm pro equal opportunity, but with that comes freedom of choice & if they ain't showin' the merchandise I ain't buyin' it!
I agree 100%, we need to remember what are vote accomplished with Pres. Obama, now lets continiously to do it. We need to practice on unity in numbers always. to all the city of harvey citizens in Harvey, IL, Please unite and come out to vote 4/7/09 and vote for Brenda L. Thompson, for 1st ward alderman and Harvey Park District, She believes in Change we can see and beleive in, Thank God. and God Bless America.
If black America watches Ameican Idol and you have a favorite, we need to vote!! you notices basically all of the contestants who were not white were at the bottom!! they get rid of us first because we don't vote for our own people!!! so if you watch.....VOTE!!!
