Chris Brown Less than 24 hours after Singersroom first reported the radio 'Brown Ban' at stations in Cleveland and Pittsburgh, program directors and dj's in Florida, Las Vegas, Lancaster, and even Rhode Island have all yanked or are contemplating pulling Chris Brown's music from their stations.

Like other radio stations, South Florida station B103.9 says "We asked listeners what they thought". Overwhelmingly listeners, like those in Cleveland, said "They want Chris brown off the radio".

Lancaster, Pennsylvania radio station FM97 followed suit, however, program Jeff Hurley, who submitted an open letter Wednesday, says he felt compelled to pull the records instead of waiting on fan responses like other stations.

Hurley says, via open letter, "We have always been fans of his music, but in light of his poor choices we felt a need for action."

At press time at least six stations nationwide had yanked the singer's songs including Providence, Rhode Island's Hot 106.3.

Unlike radio directors and some fans, rapper Joe Budden says the song pulling is premature:

"It is unfortunate I don't think anybody has any factual evidence, aside from the people that were involved. I don't know about pulling him from the airwaves".

In related news, popular childrens program "Sesame Street" says it will no longer broadcast Chris Brown's appearance with popular character Elmo.

Brown appeared on "Sesame Street" a few years back, singing the song "See The Signs" with Elmo.

I don't think radio stations and promoters should be taking this sort of action until the details of the beating of Rihanna are officially clarified. In punishing Chris like this, before he is even proven responsible for Rihanna's bruising, these radio stations and promoters are going against the core American belief of "innocent until proven guilty". It's quite unfortunate.

  2. David says:

I am shocked and disturbed when I read all the stupid people's comments here justifying Chris Brown beating the he** out of Rhianna. It sickens my stomach when I see WOMEN saying that another woman caused his fist to impact her face, and that she is "being dramatic" as some stupid ghetto chick said. I would be praying that you don't end up having your as*es beat too! HE DESERVES TO HAVE HIS CAREER IMPACTED FROM BEATING A FEMALE! So shut up and stop making excuses for the "idol" you thought was perfect ended up being an abuser. People keep forgetting that he beat her so bad, that she had to be hospitalized. THAT IS NOT A MISTAKE THAT SHOULD BE FORGIVEN LIGHTLY! He needs swift action to show him that just because he is a star, there are serious consequences to hurting other people. Those who support him need to experience the feeling of a fist as it impacts your face and.or choked until you black out. Maybe then you will wake up, shut up and accept that he deserves getting boycotted!

Hay Chris me again. Ijust wanted to say that it doesn't matter what Rihanna says or does. what matters is about the fans and the children. You used to be a great star that everyone can look up 2. Now everybody's scared of u because u beat up Rihanna. Now I don't mean 2 sound harsh but, everybody says that ur the most hated singer in the United States. and if I were you i'd watch were you'd look. Because Jay-Z says your a walking dead man and that he's going 2 rearrange ur baby face. It's all because you beat up Rihanna. So, if I were you, I would be careful. Get it from someone who cares. Like me. I hope your gonna be ok. Speak 2 ya later Chris Brown. Love ya.

  4. Taylor says:

Listen Chris I love you and I repect u and ur music. But, what u did was wrong. Your the most awsomest singer I could ever listen 2 and no artist can take that away. What i'm trying 2 say is you can't be mad all because she threw your keys out the window. You see i've been abused by a boy before, so I know what it feels like. When you were on the Tyra Banks show last year talking about your mother being abused by a man.You were the only person who helped me not be afraid of boys anymore. You realy are a great guy inside your heart. You just gotta let all the good out. And leave all the bad behind. If I were you I would apoligize to Rihanna and forget about the whole thing. If you want 2 we can talk some more about your problems I can help you with. I would be the perfect friend 2 talk 2 anytime ok. You can go on my blnk, myspace, veoh, pandora, or call me at 414-369-3171. I live in Milwaukee,Wisconsin in the North,East. come visit if u can. Hope to help you with your problems.

Baby Ike, when i saw that picture of rihanna's face, i got pissed. It doesn't matter what you say or do chris, you will always have abuser stigma attach to you. what mother wants to see thier daugther's face, f--k up like that.

  6. jazz says:

@Holler I hope you know how stupid you sound right now. I know there is always consequences to everything but, sorry the punishment does NOT fit the crime. I mean really.....Pulling his songs? C'mon man. There are artists out there that have done things waaayyy worst that have YET to get there songs pulled off the radio. This is complete and utter bullsh.t. As for you saying people have been waiting for years to "take him down" GET THE F.CK OUT OF HERE! That has to be the most dumbest comment I EVER HEARD! You C.B haterz will be eating your words when Chris comes up with a new album. And BLOWS THE INDUSTRY away with a come back! Wacth!

  7. anabel says:

yo people come on we have to give him a chance because he is a human and human always makes mistakes n am going 2 support him at the end. lov u chris. fan we hav 2 support him

  8. mercedesC. says:

There needs to be a full understanding of why the attack happened, his music does not relate to hitting women. We do not know what exactly is going on througg his head as of now. We just need to be patient and wait for Chris to make a public statement about this incident.

  9. kesha says:

i think the situation is serious but i dont think there's a need for radio station to stop playing his music there are artist who has done far more worst stuff then chris brown and their music is still getting played he's not the only one who has ever made a mistake

  10. Xavier says:

I think it is an unfortinate incident, but come on, no matter what happened on her side, it's never ok to put your hands on a woman, let alone her NECK! She was passed out, my friends parents saw it all go down on there street.
