Kelly Rowland It looks like Kelly Rowland has followed through with her New Year's resolution !

Just like a well placed source told Singersroom in early December, Kelly Rowland has dumped Beyonce's dad Matthew Knowles, who has acted as her manager since the early days of Destiny's Child.

Rumored to have been tired of playing second to Beyonce and being given the smallest piece of the pie when it came to promotion from her management Rowland is said to have fired Matthew Knowles Tuesday night.

Sources close to the singer have reported that a verbal altercation took place between Rowland and her management resulting in the "Like This" singer's decision to end their relationship.

Rowland, who spoke with Singersroom over the summer said she plans to release as many solo albums as possible: "I want to make as many solo albums as I can. I feel that (people) harp more on Kelly from Destiny's Child instead of getting to know me for who I am."

If Tuesday's situation holds true, it looks like Kelly will have a better chance at people getting to know her for who she is.

At press time no statement had been issued from management regarding Rowland's status or new management.

  5. Cazeliah says:

You know, I always wondered if Kelly and LeToya would do a song together. I like them both. I feel the same way about Foxy Brown and Lil Kim. Such great acts should come together and make great music; if not for me, for the sake of good music.

  6. Greg says:

I LOVE Beyoncé, but I think no I KNOW she gets 1st... well EVERYTHING! Good move for Kels and good luck, I hope that it doesn't tarnish the girls' relationship though cause I want DC reunion at some point! Oh and Chelle u need 2 learn from Kelly, don't take a backseat. One question though... what REALLY happens to a DC reunion? Is he still the designated manager if they're together?

Matthews bare minimum managerial efforts that used to be for Kelly, has now shifted toward Solange's career! Folks, think about it, why do we keep seeing more and more of Solange lately: magazines, commercials, satellite cable replays of "Bring it On 2", award shows, red carpet appearances, etc,.?? Kelly and Michelle are tired of playing the "Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong" roles of their careers! Matthew cannot get over this old industry stereotype about their being room for only one young diva at the top..and props to Jhud for not signing with them because that Dreamgirls/Oscar envy situation, would've been "far worse" if she was under them! These managers and label execs, need to learn alot from Clive Davis about multitasking 3 and 4 divas CD 's on the charts at the same time! Jhud, Alicia and Jazmine all had chart sucess at the same time under Clive! 2009 is off to going to be a better year of music..starting off with Kelly dumping Knowles..and hopefully Michelle will soon follow!
