No more grapes, wine tastings or photos will be taken at the singer's Atlanta-area Grape Franchise.
According to Access Atlanta, Usher's much-publicized bar, which opened in late 2006, has closed.
The Grape at Inman Park -- a bistro, wine bar and wine retailer -- did not reopen for the New Year and did not renew its liquor license with Georgia's Department of Revenue.
Upon opening the franchise in 2006, Usher rolled out the red carpet and met reporters, photographers and a well known list of Atlanta area businessmen and women, with talk of opening several 'The Grape' locations in international locales including South America.
There is no word as to whether Usher's closure is related to the economic crisis.
In good news, Usher is back in the studio !
The now Diamond-Certified "Confessions" singer was spotted working with Pharrell and Adam Levine (Maroon 5, Rihanna) recently and has also spoken with Ne-Yo about his next album.
While a release date has not been set, Usher is rumored to be pushing for a late 2009 release.

I guarantee u all that this Phenomenal comeback will be definetly worth the wait. Usher can come back from all this mess.
People always think that an artist must record slow jams and midtempo tracks to display maturity or growth, so to speak! You can still have several high uptempo tracks and display "musical" growth at the same time! Their are times when an artist does need to mature as a songwriter in the case of Janet Jackson(another subject)! But, if Madonna, Mariah, Ginuwine and Justin can continue to have uptempo tracks and show growth, then why can't Usher. Last I checked, the 30 and over crowd , still rush the dance floor in clubs and parties, so this thing about Usher needing to slow it down to show maturity is not true! We know he's a grown man! Usher, get back to ripping that stage and the charts!!
I thought Here I Stand was GREAT!!! So I agree with Ms. A.J, Usher is NOT 25 years old anymore and I think he wants you to know he is 30 now.
I also agree with Lo-Key. He should have did what his friends wanted.
I also agree with Lo-Key Don't do ur fans wrong.
I LOVED Here I Stand Beautiful Album.
I agree with Lo-key. I am a big Usher fan, but you got to admit the truth.
Well lets hope he focuses on entertaining his fans instead of trying to prove he's a "grown man" on this album. I'm sure he learned his lesson with that watered down comeback. Just stick with what your fans want. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it, is what I say.
