Beyonce's wish of performing at Barack Obama's inauguration has been granted --- well sort of ...
The "I Am Sasha Fierce" singer will join several artists including Usher at an HBO hosted inaugural concert taking place Jan. 18.
'We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial,' will celebrate Barack Obama's rise to the presidency and kick off a near four day schedule of Inaugural events that includes 10 official Inaugural Balls as well as an Inauguration Day eve youth concert at the Verizon Center.
Nineteen artists from across several genres, including Mary J. Blige, Garth Brooks, Herbie Hancock, Shakira, Usher, and Sheryl Crowe are confirmed to appear.
The special, slated to air on HBO as well, will feature historical readings from Martin Luther King III, Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx and Queen Latifah.
For those traveling to or living in the DMV (District Of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia), the concert is free and open to the public.
Bruce Springsteen, John Mellancamp, Stevie Wonder, Josh Groban and Heather Headley round out the initial line up for the show.
Some people tak about Beyonce with such hate, they give people the impression that they met her and knowher on a one to one basis. Where is the substantial evidence to proe she was jealous of JHud and wanted the spotlight that is so childish and lame... I fyou are good people will give you attention. Liyah and the idiot who coudn't put their name sound jealous women who are envious of Bey so they have to sander to feel good about their unattractive personality flaws. LAME-O's
Beyonce is being petty and still holding a grudge against Jennifer Hudson for stealing the spotlight in Dreamgirls, but at the same time she trying be slick. If not, then why did she lie about showing up at Jenn's family's funeral??? Bet y'all didn't know about that one did you....???? Was it not enough that you played Etta James in Cadillac Records. She is never happy with anything until she's ran Jenn's face into the ground. Now who's being a hater??????????
I agree with you Train...people just luv to hate her...she didn't "desperately want to be personally asked"...she just put it out there...hell i wanted to be asked to do something to, but hey it didn't happen...lol...honestly, who wouldn't...get over yourselves...obviously you're drawn to the girl, you keep reading her articles and taking the time to post something negative or positive...idiots..
Beyonce just wasn't going to be happy until she had some part of this historical moment. She is an opportunist and will do anything for attention and self gain.
people can be such haters...lol...it is absolutely sad...if people would come down from their mountain and quit hating, they would be able to realize that Beyonce is where she is by being a complete performer with range...vocally as well as in her performances...
It is not the same. This is a concert with numerous celebrities so Beyonce won't be the center of attention. But she desperately wanted to be personally asked by Mr. Obama to perform at the actual inauguration on January 20th so she and her ego can say, I was personally asked by the first African American President to sing at his inauguration. She wanted that moment so bad so she could soak it up and boast about it like she does everything else and because J-Hud was personally asked to sing at the DNC.
She's performing at a concert not the inauguration itself. How is that the same?
