Grammy Award-winning singer Amy Winehouse has taken a guilty plea and will accept a fine for illegal marijuana possession in Norway.
The former "Back To Black" star dropped a previously filed appeal Tuesday in favor of paying a fine for illegal possession in 2007.
Winehouse and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, were arrested during
a concert stop in the western city of Bergen in October 2007 on charges
of possessing 7 grams (1/4-ounce) of marijuana.
They were held overnight and released after paying fines of 3,000 kroner ($428).
"After a
careful review of the whole matter, they decided to drop the appeal,"
attorney Ole Kvelstad said by telephone. He refused to give reasons for
the decision to withdraw the appeal.
Sources close to the case say Winehouse's guilty plea may effect her ability to perform in the United States should she choose to do so in the future.
Winehouse had been denied access to the United States in 2008, when she attempted to visit for the Grammy Awards.

Why does everyone think that British-White soul singers are the best soul singers! Although good at times, Amy Winehouse and Annie Lenox are not the best soul singers! "TEENA MARIE" was around before them and can blow them out of the water vocally! She is way more dependable than Winehouse for booking shows, even though Amy is the current blue-eyed soul!Props to Teena Marie and a shout out to Robin Thicke as well!
