2009: The Year of Phenominal Change

As we embark on a New Year, it’s time to make some life changes. These changes go far beyond making the typical New Year’s resolutions of losing weight, exercising more, etc. 2009 will mark the first year of a historic presidency. Now is the time to move far beyond mediocrity. It is no longer acceptable to settle for not being able to do things because of “the man” or because of the “color of your skin”. None of these factors should stop you from achieving your dreams this year. If it has always been your dream to start your own business and stop padding someone else’s pockets, let’s do it this year. If you have been telling yourself that you want to eventually go back to school and get your college degree, do it this year. If you have always dreamed of owning your own home as I have, let’s do it this year. Have you always wanted to write a book? This is the year of change, write that book and get it published this year.
If the presidential election has shown us anything, it should be that nothing is unreachable if you believe in yourself. Make this the year that you finally live out your dreams. Even if it means letting go of an unsupportive mate or spouse, you have to do what’s right for you. Sometimes our friends can’t see the vision and don’t support our dreams. You will have to make the ultimate decision to let them go and make the transition to becoming a happy and fulfilled individual. For the Parents, this year you can show your children and not just tell them that they can do anything they want as long as they believe in themselves. Children learn from the examples that we set for them. Let’s make 2009 the example of phenomenal change!
