R&B singer's Keyshia Cole, Jamie Foxx and Anthony Hamilton made strong debuts atop this week's Billboard 200 albums chart.
Making the strongest and record setting debut, "Playa Cardz Right" star Keyshia Cole landed the week's top R&B debut with 322,000 copies of her new album "A Different Me" moved. Cole's new album, which features a collaboration with Monica, becomes her best debut on the chart, "Just Like You," also debuted at no.2 with 281,000 copies.
Right behind Cole is Jamie Foxx. Foxx's sophomore studio album "Intuition" debut at no.3 on the Billboard 200 chart featuring the single "Just Like Me". The album moved 265,000 copies.
Rounding out the week's trio of R&B debuts, Anthony Hamilton, who released "The Point Of It All" last Tuesday, debuted at no.12 with 133,000 copies.
Elsewhere on the chart, Country-Pop sensation Taylor Swift earned her third week atop the Billboard 200 with "Fearless". The singer's Big Machine set rocketed up the Billboard 200 with another 330,000 copies sold, besting every other release.
Soulja Boy's sophomore album became this week's lowest selling debut. According to Nielsen Soundscan, the "Birdwalk" and former "Crank Dat" star's new album "iSouljaBoyTellEm" debuted at no.43 with just 46, 000 copies sold. The Collipark/Interscope star's debut moved 117,000 copies on the strength of the No.1 Hot 100 hit "Crank That" last year.
Britney Spears' "Circus" (Jive) slips 2-4 with 196,000, a 2%
decrease. Beyonce's "I Am ... Sasha Fierce" (Music World/Columbia)
drops 3-5 despite a 23% increase to 195,000, while Nickelback's
"Dark Horse" (Roadrunner) slides 4-6 on a 24% increase to
194,000.
Rapper Plies' third Atlantic album, "Da Realist," begins at No. 14
with 114,000. His first and second sets, "The Real Testament" and
"Definition of Real," both debuted and peaked at No. 2 (with 96,000
and 215,000, respectively).

All of those albums are pure crap. No wonder the music industry is struggling. We purchase and celebrate mediocrity then wonder why none of it has substance. One thing for sure, my pockets are fatter due to the lack of quality music out there.
