Alicia Keys Nominees for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards are set to be announced tomorrow. In celebration of the forthcoming nominations we've taken a look at this years best in R&B albums, R&B Male Vocals and R&B Female Vocals, now its down to Best R&B Song.

In recent years Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Erykah Badu, Beyonce and Alicia Keys have earned the coveted Best R&B Song Award. Songs like "We Belong Together" and "Be Without You," cuts that we can all relate to in some way, shape, or form, have been well deserving of the music industry's top honor.

In a year full of ups and downs, economic turmoil, bloodshed and on a bright note the selection of President-Elect Barack Obama, R&B artists have covered it all. Taking us to the dance floor to ease the stress on songs like "Don't Stop The Music" and "Loving U Long Time," to covering pain and anguish on songs like "Like You'll Never See Me Again" and "Need U Bad," R&B stars including Mariah Carey, Jazmine Sullivan, Alicia Keys and Chris Brown will be remembered for providing the soundtrack to a historic year.

With that said lets take a look at this years Best R&B songs:

Contenders (among others): Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Raheem DeVaughn, Keyshia Cole, Usher, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Al Green, Estelle, Jordin Sparks, Solange Knowles, Karina Pasian and Leona Lewis.

So many songs to choose from, so many chart-topping success stories and undeniable melodies it is hard to narrow it down to just five songs, a feat the Grammy Awards will have to do by tomorrow. It's only fair that you, the fans and true R&B lovers weigh in.

  3. SingerSongwriter says:

Hands down I think "Moving Mountains" by Usher. Melodically and conceptually that song stands alone. The vocal performance was impressive cause Usher was really pushing himself plus you really felt his struggle in the "relationship". Lyrically its amazing. "Her heart is obliterated". When have you heard that before?? I think that song deserves the award. Not to mention its fresh and contemporary but still TRUE R&B, not this watered down pop thats being passed off for it.
