Tyler Perry has reportedly settled the much-talked-about battle with the Writers Guild after a series of events including a picket at the grand opening of his new studio in Atlanta.
The deal, announced this week, came after five months of negotiations, reports Variety.
Perry's TBS comedies 'House of Payne' and 'Meet The Browns' will push forward as planned with season premieres early next year.,
The guild had accused Perry of firing four scribes around the same time they came in contact with the WGA. Perry denied the charge, saying the four were let go because he was unhappy with the quality of their work on "House of Payne" and the upcoming "Meet The Browns" spinoff (Variety).
According to the WGA, the deal does not include the reinstatement of the four writers, three of whom were WGA members.
"With a continued focus on fostering young, diverse talent, we are
eager to continue our dialogue with the WGA to dramatically increase
the number of minority writers working in Hollywood today," Perry said
in a statement.
Tyler Perry, who is due to release 'Madea Goes To Jail' next year, has also completed deals with SAG, DGA, Teamsters and IATSE.

Im glad this eposide is BEHIND tyler. I belived he got a bum wrap from greedy writers who should be grateful Tyler employed them in the first place, nevertheless, Tyler is the STAR not them and he will be known and remembered for his blazing talent NOT them.
Continued Peace and Blessings Tyler and i cant wait to see what ART comes out of Tyler Perry Studios. :-)
Well! I'm happy he has negotiated with the WGA. However, a man has got to do what he needs to do. Afterall he has recognised the need for peace and continued to have dialogue with WGA. And his focus to increase the number of minority writers working in Hollywood is well received.Ken Smart
