Ginuwine has attacked today?s uncharismatic R&B singers, saying their music lacks substance and has dragged the genre down to its lowest standard ever.

The Pony and In Those Jeans singer, who has been on the scene for a decade, says: ?I just believe R&B is at an all time low right now as far as the substance of the songs and everything.

?I think it?s missing charisma, substance a little and a lot of other stuff,? he confessed to ChocolateMagazine.co.uk.

The 35-year-old also says he doesn?t listen to the radio anymore because he?s ?not pleased? with what he hears.

?I don?t like it, I don?t like where it?s at, so instead I go into the studio; I?m tryna bring it back to where it needs to be.?

Ginuwine?s album, Back II Da Basics, is out now.

I think that he is absolutely right. R&B is turning into R&Hop. There are very very few cats in the game right now that are putting out music that makes you feel anything. These days people think just because someone gets on a slow beat and can hold a damn note that it's automatically R&B. Those artist are a disgrace to the genre. I respect their hustle but not what they call talent. Half of the dummies buyin those millions of albums are just band wagon hoppers, and kids that want to be like the other kids.

I definitely agree with Ginuwine. There's a lack of real content that's significant. I'm "old school" and the R & B singers and groups of today are not making music like Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Al Green, Maze, The Manhattans, etc. R & B Music from the '70s and '80 were "the joint." Let's try making some real music about love and happiness, so the younger people can start to realize that it's not all about sex, money and drugs.

I have to agree with Ginuwine.I don't think he was directly meaning to diss anyone,He's entitled to his own opinion, but he's right.R&B aint what it used to be.It's singers like R.Kelly,Neyo and Ginuwine, that keeps R&B going just to name a few.I wish Michael Jackson would go back to his R&B roots and show those youngins what time it really is.

  8. olivier says:

well ginuwine i love his music but i think what he said can be considered as disrespectfulk towards the public because when you're in the showbiz industry only thepublic is the real judge , if the new r'n'b artists sellmillions of records then it means the public appreciate their music that's all

  9. YOUNGMONEY says:

DAMN WHY ARE YOU HATING ON OTHER ARTISTS AND WHY DID YOU NAME YOUR ALBUM BACK TO THE BASIC DAMN I KNOW WHY YOU WAS SITTING AT HOME AND THOUGHT TO YOURSELF THAT YOU NEED TO GET BACK TO THE BASIC WITH YOUR GAY AZZ

  10. says:

Really I don't see what the difference is between your music and what other R&B artists are coming out with. How did your album so in the stores? You just talking stuff because you have some albums out!
