R&B singer/songwriter Lee Carr is heating things up with his new single "Breathe," a follow up to the hot summer anthem "Stilletos".
The former Def Jam artist, who is now signed to a deal with Jive Records, almost gave the record to fellow R&B star Usher.
"Originally I had written the song for Usher, but I saved it for myself."
"Breathe" becomes the young businessman's first major single under a deal he calls "a great situation".
Detailing the deal with Singersroom, Carr says "I was signed to Def Jam prior and it's like night and day. I'm signed to Jive [now] and it's my company I'm signed to which is 3rd Lane Music Group, and Jive signed that."
Carr made history earlier this year, signing the multi-million dollar exclusive deal with Jive Records in under 24 hours -- reportedly from a parked car.
"It's a great situation. I'm about to shoot a video."
Lee Carr's debut album featuring the lead single "Breathe" is due next year.

I love this song!! I get goosebumps everytime I hear it. His voice and the words are just beautiful. He displays through his music and the passion in his words what I love about R&B. It is something I can relate to and feel deep within in me. He is a very talented young man and I am definitely a fan and cannot wait until his album comes out!!
