Grammy nominated R&B/soul singer Ledisi is here for you this Christmas.
Pumped for the Holidays, Ledisi says "Everywhere there’s an air of Christmas joy, it’s that once a year, when the world’s sincere and you’d like to find a way to show the things that words can’t say."
Titled "It's Christmas," Ledisi's new holiday themed album features twelve yuletide standards including "I'll Go," "What A Wonderful World," "Silent Night," and "Please Come Home for Christmas," all with the "Alright" singer's signature style.
"I hope it will be something that people will pull out and listen to every year," says the singer who recorded most of the album live.
One of the songs, co-written by Ledisi, “Be There For Christmas” is a cut with a
“back-in-the-day” flavor. In fact, Ledisi co-wrote four songs for the
set including the title track, co-written and produced by the
legendary George Duke.
"It’s Christmas" also
features trumpeter Christian Scott
(on an unforgettable version of Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful
World”) and Grammy Award-winning blues favorite Keb’ Mo’ (on the
soul-flavored, Walter Kent-penned “Please Come Home For Christmas”).
Ledisi's "It's Christmas" is in stores now.
