Akon Switches 'Freedom' Up 'Euro' Style

AkonWhile Akon has promised a number of signature 'Konvict' songs on his upcoming album "Freedom" the former "Smack That" star admits he had to switch things up this time out.

Set for release, Dec. 2, Akon's "Freedom" features help from T-Pain, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy and an all new Euro-club inspired sound.

"We changed the sound up a lot," Akon told Billboard recently.

"Now we're bringing the whole Euro-club sound. That's where we're headed with it."

Akon's new sound can be heard on "Freedom's" lead single "Right Now (Na Na Na)" and "Holla Holla" featuring T-Pain.

In related news, Akon is plotting a "Freedom" inspired tour early next year. Dates are slated to announced at a later time.

"Freedom" hits stores and online retailers Dec. 2.
