MTV's Gentleman #1 Fonzworth Bentley is taking his 'swagger' to the mic.
Bentley, host of MTV's hit reality series "From G's To Gents," has made moves with his first single and video "Everybody" - featuring Kanye West and Andre 3000 which is now available on iTunes.
The “Everybody” video was directed by newcomer Dion Watkins, a graduate of USC Film School, Masters program. Watkins wanted the theme of the video to be an ode to groups like the Temptations that were part of an era when artists took pride in their image and had a certain mystique. With tight synchronized dances and slick lyrics, the video will debut on a new and free weekly feature on the iTunes Store called “Music Video of the Week” on October 7.
In related news, Bentley, who has shown his mentoring skills with the contestants of the reality show “From G’s to Gents”, is looking for 15 new G’s to take under his wing for a second season which will start taping later this year and airs at the top of 2009.
Again the men will be educated in everything from Style and Grace, Etiquette, Chivalry and Business Skills. The men will LEARN that with the right tools, every G has the ability to be a true Gentleman — and a real shot at finding success. The G that makes it to the end of the competition will win $100,000, membership into The Gentleman’s Club and leave having the skills to succeed in the real world. It's about time someone in Hollywood's reality tv, did a reality show about brothers, as well as other minorities, who need to get their s--- together. Despite what may be the shows dramatics, isn't this show an aspect of what life is really about..."Everyday people getting their lives together and making life better for their children as well" The only drawback is the show makes the guys temporary celebrities and will they continue on the right path after the cameras stop rolling??Much, much props to Fonzworth and to MTV for a non-documentary, entertaining, real life show that is really "helps" people in their walk of life!
