Tyler Perry is ready to share the love by opening doors for other filmmakers.
Launching 34th Street Films, a production arm of his Atlanta-based Tyler Perry Studios, Perry will focus on recruiting outside filmmakers to work under and expand the Perry brand.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Matt Moore will run the division as executive VP production and development. "Working closely with Tyler and his team, we're excited to build
upon his loyal following and identify projects that deliver for his
core while also making inroads into audiences that may not yet be
familiar with his work," Moore said.
Perry's new venture also
will include former State Street Pictures vp Poppy Hanks, who will
join as vp production, and former New Line executive Amber
Rasberry, who will be a creative executive. Moore and his team will
work out of offices in Los Angeles.
"He's looking to work with other producers," Lionsgate president of
production Mike Paseornek said last month. "I have producers coming
out of the woodwork saying to me, 'Do you think this would be right
for Tyler?' That's going to be exciting to see, with different
producers, different writers, different directors and different
subject matter."

Yes I am very interrested in sending a couple of screenplays to 34 st films for consideration. Any help in how to script submissions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much Arlen Owen
Tyler, I know you write your own material to make TV or movie even plays. How do we the non-union writers and other African Americans get their plays, movies or tv sitcoms out without a hand up. I've tried in many ways to submit and don't even get a nibble. HELP!
Is he really giving back? That would be giving an unknown writer a chance I would think. That's not the case. Most new writers don't have agents or lawyers. Can't really get an agent unless you have some reputable work, how is that if your unknown. You have to have an agent in order to get an agent. So really he's not giving back and his company isn't approachable at all. Oh and you need an agent and a lawyer.
