Eric Benet Lands Strong Career Debut, LL Cool J Debuts In Billboard Top 10

Eric Benet earned his second highest debut this week, selling just over 40,000 copies of "Love & Life," his fith studio album. LL Cool J also earned a spot on Billboard's 200 Albums chart, landing at #9.
Debuting just outside the top 10 at no. 11, Eric Benet's "Love and Life" comes just short of his strongest debut, 1999's "A Day in the Life" which sold 44,000 copies in its first week.
Led by the single "You're The Only One," Benet tapped Demonte Posey and George Nash Jr. for the project, which he co-wrote and produced. "I wanted to make a record that was a good feeling R&B record, and some of the best R&B for me growing up had a dash of gospel, a couple dashes of jazz" says Benet.
Elsewhere on the albums chart, LL Cool J returned with "Exit 13," his final album to be released via Def Jam.
Led by the hit single "Baby" featuring The-Dream, LL Cool J debuted at no. 9, selling 44,000 copies.
Young Jeezy's hit album "The Recession" lands at no.2 this week, selling nearly 90,000 copies while Natalie Cole's "Still Unforgettable" charted in at no.19 with 24,000 copies sold.
