Singer Lauryn Hill is still sore about her once unique style being copied by young black women - because she never signed up to become a fashion icon.
The Ready Or Not singer hates seeing clones of herself because she feels fans are stealing her spirit.
She says, "Fashion is something I breathe... It's something I did very naturally, but I've seen my style, my look, everywhere. I wasn't really trying to share my style.
"I've seen my concepts, my ideas, my creative birthright be exploited, appropriated, copied and reproduced. And that was painful."

Lauryn Hill is a beautiful person and one of the most talented and creative singers of our time and if she said that than I forgive her. It must be frustrating for her, I don't think she really knew what stardom would mean. I still love her and I always will, thats what a true fan would do!
Lauren needs to take a page from Mariah's book and come back with some hot songs and entertain me. Just make some good music and all will be forgotten, it worked for Mariah at least. And your style is nothing more than Andre 3000 with a touch of acoustic soul hmn Inia Arie maybe. Get over it be naked and see what people will do.
When you are in the public eye. You are just that. "In there eye." They see you as something they would like to be or become. If they like your style then that is a compliment . Miss Hill, do as your new single states a few time in the chorus "Take it easy." peace, love and respect.
Dear Lawd, We know that Lauryn is Your child. She may be struggling to find herself and her own spirit, she has been hurt, and has felt alot of pain. And we know that you are working on her Lawd, but can you please help us -her loyal fans, to not be pissed off when she says stupid things like this. Cause You know we're getting sick and tired off all the dumb self-centered egomaniacal things she's been saying and doing lately. Thanks Lawd. Amen.
I'm really disappointed in Ms. Hill. I'm a huge fan of hers and have been for quite awhile. I don't understand what's so upsetting about a fans admiring your style! She sounds so pompous... When I first heard about the Fugees reunion and saw them on the BET awards I was estatic that real hip-hop was being reborn...It's been awhile since we've heard something on the radio that's worth spending our hard earned $$$ on, but with an attitude like that, sh*t, I'll keep downloading off the net and burning my own disks...I won't support artists like that...
Wow! Well all I have to say is that when you become a mega superstar and receive accredidation for your talent, crazed fans and copycats come along with it. I mean, no one can still what was placed into you by God because we're all individuals no matter how hard we try to like someone else. The spirits are all different and that's what makes you who you are,not your outer appearance.Aren't you Ms. Hill, the one who said that the way your image was viewed on your first project was the music industry's doing? Please pray to God about your soreness. www.myspace.com/theimanwilliamsproject
Is she for real? She should be flattered that people think that highly of her. She hasn't had a hit in a minute therefore, being a fashion icon is the next best thing for her. Out of sight out of mind...or has she forgotten. If you don't want people to cop your style try not being famous. There's a start.
Lauryn, I am getting sick of reading about your insane comments about your fans. We all know you suffered a nervous breakdown. Stop it!!! Lauryn needs to get back on the miseducation stuff, because you are on some pcp stuff...What did Marley do to you!! geez. you havent been the same. just stop talking bad about your fans before we have a memory lapse of you!!! Plus you dont dress that bomb anyway. look cheesy to me!!! LOL! Im cool on you Lauryn B. or i forgot you said for everyone to call you Ms. Hill.
Give me a break. Lauryn needs to get unstuck off stupid. This is what happens when you are in the public eye, she should feel somewhat flaterred. It is this ungratefulness and unappreciation for her fans, her down right arrogance that has me very hesitant to buy another album of hers. Girl get a grip
