Vibe Magazine issued a statement today in response to Robin Thicke's controversial interview last week, an interview in which the singer says he was denied the cover because he was white.
In response to Thicke's claim, the magazine says: "We have a great deal of respect for Robin Thicke and his music, and we remain flattered by his desire to be on a VIBE cover. A VIBE cover is a huge milestone in any artist’s career—recent cover stars include Young Jeezy, Mariah Carey, 50 Cent, Usher, Senator Barack Obama, Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Robert De Niro, to say nothing of our 15-year history. We wish Thicke the best, and we’re glad he discusses his thoughts on race and R&B in the new October 2008 issue of VIBE."

I believe that he just hasn't paid his dues yet and eventually he would have made it on there and he needs some hype to bring attention to his new cd In the case of Madonna and Christina they have never committed to being r n b artists so because you have a concept urban album out I don't think that you deserve to be on the cover of vibe Please remember this is only his second attempt at r n b his very first CD was pop long before lost without you
I beleive their has been some communication behind the seen to Robin thicke as to why he didn't make the cover. Madonna back in the late 90's was said to be pissed off because she didn't make VIBE's cover during her Bedtime stories album release, as well as Christina Aguilara for her 2nd CD release. But in contrast, they have had Eminen and Justin Timberlake on the cover
