Ashanti’s Comfortable Mixing Business With Pleasure

Contrary to reports, Ashanti says she is still with St. Louis’ #1 rapper Nelly, who appears in her latest video and single “Good Good.”
“[He’s]an amazing person with a big heart, who’s taught me a lot” says Ashanti who recently released the video for “Good Good.” Despite rumors that they are separated or engaged, depending on who you ask, the singer seems content with mixing business with pleasure, unlike her often compared to Hip-Hop and R&B royalty counterparts Jay-Z and Beyonce who quietly wed earlier this year.
“I want a lot of people there,” Ashanti told Page Six this summer, referring to a potential wedding. Even though she has spoken a lot about marriage and children this year– she reportedly wants 10 kids – Ashanti is quick to say that they are not engaged, at least not at this moment.
For now Ashanti is content with her latest album “The Declaration,” which she produced almost independently, penning nearly every song and calling the shots for the first time since her 2002 self titled debut. But according to Page Six, she will give it all up for a family: “I love my career, but to one day be a mom is more important to me than any platinum albums or awards.”
