Chico DeBarge Readies New Album 'Addiction'

He’s back – R&B singer Chico DeBarge is set to release a new album entitled “Addiction” early next year, his first in five years, Singersroom has learned exclusively.
Known as the younger brother of the legendary Motown group DeBarge and for his own hits “Playa Hater,” “Talk To Me,” and “Give You What You Want,” Chico DeBarge is busy prepping for his return to music with a new record deal and new album.
Titled “Addiction,” the album follows DeBarge’s 2003 effort “Free” which spawned the single “Home Alone” and marks the singer’s return to Kedar Entertainment/Universal, home to Joe and soul singer Algebra.
Slated for release in February of next year, the album is confirmed to feature a collaboration with labelmate and fellow R&B singer Joe who is due to release a new album this fall. Even though further details on the album are limited at this time, fans can expect the first single “TellYour Man” to be released this fall.
In related news, Chico DeBarge appears on George Clinton’s “Radio Friendly” album which also features collaborations with Sly Stone, Santana, DeBarge and more. “Radio Friendly as previously reported on Singersroom is due September 16th via Shanachie Records.
