Robin Thicke Following up on the mega hit “The Evolution of Robin Thicke,” might prove to be difficult for Robin Thicke whose follow up disc “Something Else” hit stores in September – but the singer/songwriter seems up to the challenge.

“I felt like a lot of stuff out there sounded the same,” says Thicke of his new project which was produced entirely by the singer and long-time collaborator Pro-Jay that unlike it’s predecessor features no guest appearances.

Led by the hit single “Magic,” Thicke describes the new album as a cross between “classic Philly Motown and ‘70s black disco meeting the creativity of the Beatles and Bob Dylan.”

"I felt like a lot of stuff out there sounded the same. Plus, there are a lot of things going on in the world with the recession and the war. It made me feel like everybody really just needed something new, something else," says the Platinum-selling singer/songwriter "It's time for a change and there is hope for everyone."

In addition to ‘Something Else,’ Robin Thicke is trying his hand at literature and other projects. According to Billboard, the singer revealed that he has been involved in movie scoring, writing a novel and a screen play in addition to recently wrapping up his first poetry book. Although no release dates have been set, Thicke says "they'll end up there. I have to enjoy and feel like I made something that deserves to be noticed. Otherwise, I don't rush my products for accolades."

Robin Thicke’s ‘Something Else’ hits stores September 9th via Star Trak/Interscope.
