NeYoR&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo snatched up the top position on this weeks UK singles chart beating out the previous chart topping rock band Coldplay.

This is not the first time the “Closer” singer has earned a no.1 hit in the United Kingdom, Ne-Yo’s breakout hit “So Sick” landed at no.1 on the same chart in 2006. Prepping his third effort entitled Year of the Gentleman, Ne-Yo is reeling after Michael Jackson approved of a new song on his album dedicated to the King of Pop. As previously reported on Singersroom, Ne-Yo’s Year of the Gentleman hits stores in August.

Elsewhere on this week’s UK singles chart, Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown jumped seven spots to number three with the single “No Air.”
