On TV This Week: Ashanti, Dwele, Solange, Al Green, The Roots and More

Kicking off Black Music Month, a few of today’s top R&B/Soul singers are slated to appear on some of the nations top shows this week featuring live performances, video premieres and exclusive interviews.
R&B songbird Ashanti, makes her rounds through MTV’s TRL and BET’s 106 & Park early in the week to promote her fourth studio album “The Declaration” which hits stores Tuesday.
On Wednesday both BET and VH1 Soul will feature premieres of new videos and live specials including VH1 Soul’s Soul Stage premiere of The Root’s Live at 9pm. BET will premiere behind the scenes footage of Solange Knowles’ new video for “I Did” during the same evening.
Closing out the week, Chris Brown is slated to appear on NBC’s Today Show while Ashanti will perform as previously reported on Singersroom Live from Bryant Park in New York City for ABC’s Good Morning America Summer Concert Series.
