Don’t stand too close to Amy Winehouse. According to People, the R&B singer has been diagnosed with impetigo, a superficial bacterial skin infection.
Impetigo is highly contagious and it usually produces blisters or sores on the face and hands. It is most common among children.
People who play close contact sports such as rugby, football and wrestling are also susceptible, regardless of age.
Topical or oral antibiotics are usually prescribed. And yes, Winehouse is currently treating her infection with prescribed drugs.
As for how the singer's feeling, "She's fine," a pal tells PEOPLE. "She's not hiding away. She's never been one to care what people think."

they're making it sound like some kind of sickness that makes her a disgusting person.. people all over catch that, as a matter of fact, the bacteria that causes impetigo is called group A streptococcus or staphylococcus aureus and it lives on everyone, but can cause skin rashes if it gets under the skin say through an insect bite.. leave the girl alone.
