Tank, SWV, and Peabo Bryson know all about that "down home" soul food defined by the urban dictionary as "soothing, comfort food that brings back warm memories of family dinners". Starting June 13, the trio, along with a number of R&B/soul and Jazz artists will converge for the annual Soul Food Festival !
Making its way through Louisville, Jacksonville, Memphis, Charlotte, Cincinnati and Cleveland by early September, the 2009 Soul Food Festival lives up to its annual promise of bringing the best in music, art, and cuisine to you. In addition to SWV, Tank and Peabo Bryson (pictured), Dru Hill, Troop, Silk, Ready For The World, After 7, MC Lyte, and Cameo will take the stage on select dates. (Updated below)
Even though times are tough economically, the Soul Food Festival was able to maintain low ticket prices this year. In fact, all concerts are $28 or less if you purchase in advance or $35 if purchased on the day of the show -- not bad right ? (see itinerary below)
In recent years Stephanie Mills, The Whispers, Howard Hewett, and The SOS Band have performed on the Soul Food Festival stage.

It's thundering and pouring down raining in M-town right now. Gates open in 2 hours. It doesnt seem as if the rain is gonna stop!!! Does anyone know if we get refunds? I'm so disappointed. I was really looking forward to this.

I live in Cincinnati from a local DJ I talked to here is the Cincinnati lineup Three of Ohio's own will be bringing in the funk (Sugarfoot) Ohio Players If you have never seen them before a must see Lakeside rounding off Ohio's three Daze band t he other 2 bringing the funk will be Confunkshun and the Barkays there it is last year was great this year is bigger. They had tickets on sell one weekend only for 15 dollars you know I got mine.
