Alot of people know Thara from her high profile record deal with DJ Clue's DESERT STORM and her appearance on Fabolous' platinum album "Real Talk" (on the Scott Storch produced song "Ghetto.)" But it is Thara's recent exploits since her departure from that label that has her name in peoples mouths all over the world.
Being Guyanese, East Indian, Black and Irish, Thara is truly a girl who's ethnic diversity is a blessing. Her massive following in the south Asian and Asian Markets have landed her a movie role in a Bollywood Film, appearances at the Bollywood Awards, guest hosting on MTV, covers and interviews in many fashion and music magazines (Vibe, Asian Woman, Smooth to name a few) and of course, tours alongside such artists as Ne-yo, have carved out a real lane for Thara. Indeed, she is one of the only Indian girls, to have mainstream radio play in the United States and beyond. She is trailblazing a path for those coming behind her.
Able to appeal to all ethnic groups, Thara's unique looks and charm have also landed her Modeling and Print spots in campaigns for Verizon, American Eagle and Azure Denim to name few. She has been the face for "Invisalign" and Reebok" and She has been featured in videos with Jay Z, Sean Paul, Fabolous and now of course her own Video and Single.....Jump On.
This past Summer, Thara toured Japan with R&B Star "Ne-Yo" and Europe with UK Pop Sensation "Jay Sean." Performing over 20 shows to sold out concert halls in over 7 different countries.
Currently, Thara's first street single is being playing in mix-show on NYC's hot 97, and Miami's Power 96, while her Duet with UK superstar Jay Sean, Entitled "Murder" charted top 10 on the BBC Asian Radio Charts. In addition to the beginning radio buzz, Thara's album in Japan has sold an impressive 30,000 digital downloads already in just one months shelf life.
