Born in Baltimore Maryland, KoMika started singing at the age of 4 in her church . At 13 she moved to Texas where she grew as a singer, as well as a song writer. KoMika has been influenced by some of the greats such as Gladys Knight, Whitney Houston, Anita Baker and Mariah Carey just to name a few. She has taken home top honors in several national talent competitions, as well as having her first works as a writer published while still attending high school.
After graduating high school KoMika decided to make her dream into a reality by packing up and moving to New York City. It was at this time that she got her first taste of the music industry as the lead singer of the girl group Third Wish. After 3yrs of hard work and dedication, it was clear that not everyone shared the same drive and focus as her. Determined not to give up KoMika parted ways with the group and decided to go solo.
Next stop on her journey, KoMika hooked up with DaMan Productions, working with producer/engineer Dan The Man, who has worked with the likes of Lil Kim, Christina Aguilera, Maino, Scott Storch, Full Force and Manuel Seal to name a few. Together creating a new flavor that promises to take the music world by storm. KoMika has lent her voice to several commercials jingles, most recently a national spot for McDonalds. In March of 2005 KoMika brought her fresh sound to Purple Citys major release of The Road to the riches, on the song titled A Star. KoMika has appeared on countless mix tapes, where she keeps everyone asking who is KoMika? Her newest song Hooked is a definite ladies anthem, as she lets you know that shes got that good and you cant help but want to know more. With a voice that is undeniable and lyrics that tell a story, KoMika definitely delivers. She has a presence of star quality that is evident, it is clear that she is a great one in the making.
