Jordin Sparks Questions 'Purity Ring,' Admits Moving On Steph Jones
Jordin Sparks stood up for the Jonas Brothers at last year's MTV Video Music Awards, proudly touting her purity ring. Today, the former "No Air" singer says she's concerned about her feelings for singer/songwriter Steph Jones and where their relationship is going..

"We don't know whether or not to go further or to just keep the friendship," Sparks shared with PEOPLE at this week's BMI Pop Awards.

"It's crazy, we've got the feelings but we don't know whether or not to say it out loud."

Sparks and Jones have been seen at a few events over the last month which had led to dating rumors. But at BMI's Pop Awards Sparks let the cat out of the bag, confirming that Jones was her official date. In fact, Sparks admits she was the one who made the first move on the "Sunshine" singer.

"My parents have met him and everything already. I met him two years ago. He was writing for Blake (Lewis) who got second place (on American Idol). I was like, "Can I get your contact information because you are a songwriter ?," says Sparks.

"I was still working on my album and he was the only person I knew in LA, so everytime I would come I would say, "Hey, you want to hang out?"

As for Jones, the singer/songwriter burst onto the scene as a model, then linked with Ludacris' DTP Records appearing in the video for "Celebrity Chick". Since then Jones has been writing and putting together his debut album that may feature fan favorites like "La La Means Love" and "Mr. Ordinary".

Speaking with Singersroom in 2008, Jones said he was "happily married to music" when asked about dating but later admitted that the perfect companion would have "an independence about her but definitely has her sweet girl side."

He went on to say "I don't really have a preference as far as color...because I've dated tall girls, I've dated short girls, skinny girls. I've dated thick girls . . . Honestly every woman has their own sense of [beauty] and sexiness. It may not be for me but definitely for the next man that comes along. It might be the way the girl has an attitude or might be the way she scratch her head ‘cause she just got her braids done or it might be the way she smack her gum, even though I can't stand when people smack gum but that might just catch me one day".
